Why giving a price increase at least annually is essential for keeping your profit margin in check.
Mastering the Art of Price Increases: A Guide for Cleaning Companies
If you have a Cleaning Business Service, then you have realized that your profit needs to stay the same. The only way to keep your margins in tack is by doing a price increase at least annually. Admittedly, giving a price increase for the first time can be nerve racking, if you have never given one ever or it’s been a long time.
There are other price increases that need to be done as well but we can talk about that in another post.
Get your clients prepared that there is going to be a change with how much they pay. The norm for this is around 30 days. I have seen where other cleaning business owners give a week or two week notice as well. Always go with your gut to anticipate what is going to work best for you and them.
Remember to give a price increase to a few cleaning clients at a time, especially if you have never increased pricing before. This way if they jump. Then you are not without income until you gather more clients up.
Once you have given prices increase annually for 2 or 3 years in a row then your clients will anticipate it and you can then just give out price increases all at once.
If you are nervous and need a little help with doing a price increase then consider taking the price increase bootcamp.
